Underlay
Quiet Step is a high density, 2mm polyolefin acoustic foam underlay that has been designed to significantly reduce noise created by foot traffic (reflected noise). Quiet Step reduces reflected noise by up to 30% as well as improving noise transfer between floors in multi-storey buildings (Impact Isolation Class).A simple comparative test can be performed using a piece of Quiet Step and a piece of standard underlay underneath two offcuts of Readyflor. By tapping both samples with a coin, the impact noise reduction offered by Quiet Step is clearly demonstrated.
Impact Isolation Class
Several tests have been carried out to determine the Impact Isolation Class (IIC) of Readyflor installed on Quiet Step. Test results, reaching IIC60 on one occasion, and data can be obtained by contacting the Premium Floors Commercial Division whose contact details can be found in the Contact Us section of the Home Page. Additional Benefits
Quiet Step has incredibly low water vapour transmission, excellent slip ratings and thickness tolerances, is highly resistant to pre-installation tearing and has been formulated with new lay flat polymers fro easy installation. Installing Quiet Step Underlay
Quiet Step rolls are one metre wide. Rolling out one row at a time, simply cut the underlay using a sharp knife to fit the shape of the area to be installed and tape the joins together as you install each new row. All joins should be butted together, not overlapped.
